Sebastian Rassmann

About Me

I am a Ph.D. student at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) interested in generative AI for MRI. My main research focuses on how to maximize the information extractability from existing (routine) acquisition to ultimately improve or enable downstream processing, e.g. via contrast translation (YODA) and denoising (YADO). I have a graduate degree (MSc) in Computer Science and an additional undergrad degree (BSc) in Molecular Biomedicine.

• [June 2026] Our paper on re-thinking MRI denoising (YADO) was accepted for ECCV 2026 (main track and MEDFMB workshop)
• [March 2026] We released the model weights for YODA.
• [Jan 2026] Two abstracts on MRI contrast translation were accepted for ISMRM 2026.
• [Dec 2025] Our paper on why not to use Diffusion for medical image translation (YODA) was accepted by IEEE T-MI.
• [July 2024] I started my PhD studies at the Deep-MI lab (PI M. Reuter) at DZNE.
• [May 2024] I graduated with MSc. in Computer Science from Uni Bonn.
